Maele bids residents farewell

Member of Parliament for Tswapong North, Mr Prince Maele has bid farewell to residents of Tsetsebjwe and Moletemane.
Addressing a kgotla meeting at the two villages recently, Mr Maele thanked residents for the support they gave him during his tenure as MP.
He said the two villages, which had been excised from Tswapong North, will be incorporated into Bobonong constituency in the upcoming general elections.
He told residents that he would always have their interests at heart and will support the MP they will vote for in the coming general elections.
Mr Maele implored the residents to vote in the 2014 general elections, adding that about 15 379 people had registered to vote in the general elections in Bobonong constituency.
He urged them to exercise their right by casting their vote, adding that they should vote for the candidate and the political party of their choice. He said those who registered should all cast their vote.
On other issues, Mr Maele informed residents about the 2014/2015 national budget. He said P12.24 billion was channeled into the development budget whilst the recurrent budget was allocated P33.32 billion.
Under the development budget, he said the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources was allocated the lion’s share of P3.55 billion for completion of Morupule B Power Station, Dikgathong and Thune dams, North South Carrier II and the sewage system in Kanye and Molepolole.
He said Ministry of Transport and Communication was allocated P1.88 billion for completion of Tonota/Francistown road, Kanzungula Bridge and the Sir Seretse Khama Airport.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, he said, was allocated P1.27 billion with P580 million channeled into Ipelegeng and other projects such as backlog eradication.
For their part, residents of Moletemane and Tsetsebjwe thanked Mr Maele for working closely with them and giving them feedback on development projects.
However, residents of Tsetsebjwe told Mr Maele to continue advocating for development of their village, particularly construction of a bridge at Zanzibar border post. Moletemane residents on one hand thanked Mr Maele for resolving issues irking residents of Moletemane. ENDS
