Fire destroys warehouse

It took fighfighters nearly seven hours to put out a fire that gutted Bears and Aves furnitures warehouse at the Broadhurst Industrial area on Monday (June 9).
Broadhurst police station commander, Superintendent Bonosi Molapisi said the incident was reported to them at around 4 p.m. By then, the fire had engulfed the entire warehouse. Fighfighters from Gaborone City Council spent the next seven hours trying to extinguish the blaze.
Superintendent Molapisi said various types of furniture whose value was yet to be ascertained were destroyed. He said the cause of the fire, which also affected nearby buildings, was still unknown whilst police investigations continue. No one was injured. Ends
