Serowe regional immigration office as well as citizenship and gender affairs offices, on June 6, celebrated their success for having being voted the best overall departments in the service delivery awards last year.
The celebration was held in recognition of the contributions made by the team members towards the success of the region and it entailed awarding of certificates of appreciation to the entire Serowe team.
The guest speaker, Mr Modiredi Nthaga who is also the performance improvement coordinator under the Ministry of Labour and Home affairs, said it was a good thing that the two departments which fell under the same ministry celebrated good results.
Mr Nthaga therefore urged the employees to continue working as a unit because, by so doing, they would deliver services on time and on schedule adding that they must always make sure that they gave customers feedback, stop absenteeism if they wanted to continue occupying the top spot.
He said due to recession government could not employ adequate staff but that should not be an excuse for poor service delivery.
Earlier on, when giving welcome remarks, Senior Gender Officer at Gender Affairs Department Ms Selebaleng Kanokang said the celebrations are a gesture of appreciation towards the hard work the team has shown in achieving the success. She challenged everybody to strive to do more when going forward so that they can produce more positive results.
The employees were awarded certificates of appreciation and different trophies were paraded such as a trophy for the best region and best entry point. ENDS
