PDPs a must - Molefhi
08 Jun 2014
Employees of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) have been urged to always sign the performance and development plans (PDP).
Addressing the employees at the recent MTC awards, Minister Nonofo Molefhi said it was important for government employees to sign PDPs as the document was ideal for assessment of the officer’s performance.
Minister Molefhi warned the employees that as for the 2014/15 financial year, any employee who would not sign the PDP will not be entitled to a salary. He also noted that it was important as ministry employees to work together as one, despite different departments for improved services at the ministry.
The minister however expressed concern over the rate of corruption reported to be prevailing at MTC, noting that such mischievous acts were detrimental to the image of the ministry, thus he implored the employees to desist from such ills.
He said corruption rate was reported to be high at the department of roads, transport and safety and the Central Transport Organisation where vehicle parts were reportedly stolen from government fleet.
On another issue, minister Molefhi encouraged MTC employees to improve on their customer service delivery.
Nonetheless, as it was a night of recognising excellence, as the minister’s award went to Diphetogo WITS team which had worked hard towards the ministry’s quality service delivery. ENDS
