Orapa based division one outfit Field Masters watched from the stands as Gunners of Khwai and Kazungula Young Fighters played to a three all draw on May 11.

The result knocked Masters out of the promotional race to first division north. Both teams qualified to the next round of the promotional playoffs.

Gaojenkabo Bahenyi was instrumental on attack as he scored three crucial goals for Gunners of Khwai while on one hand Kazungula Young Fighters’ One Diane’s goal and a brace from Michael Bofetogile settled the score. 


Both teams maintained their unbeaten run as they had never lost a game prior to the promotional playoffs. Having played all their games on Saturday and registering two points after drawing both their matches, Filed Masters had their hopes pinned on the outcome of the last game between Kazungula Young Fighters and Gunners of Khwai.

Field Masters would have loved to see either of their two opponents taking all three points or settling draw of not more than a goal. However all Field Masters could do was hope as they could not get into the field of play to dictate terms and ultimately decide on the outcome of the game.

A two all draw will have seen Field Masters playing a decider against Kazungula Young Fighters to determine as to who will join Gunners of Khwai and move forward to the next round of the first division qualifiers.

It was unfortunate for Field Masters as a three all draw of their opponents in the last game left them at the bottom with two points while the duo of Kazungula Young Fighters and Gunners of Khwai moved forward having also registered two points each from two draws but with goals advantage.

Gunners of Khwai topped the group with two points, scoring five and conceding five goals while Kazungula Young Fighters came second with two pints having scored four goals and conceding the same number of goals. Field Masters came last with two points having scored three and conceding three goals. ENDS
