Police establishes new district

The Botswana Police Service (BPS) is set to establish a new police district in Mahalapye with effect from April 1.
A news release from the BPS states that the new district, to be named NO 16 police district, would have its headquarters in Mahalapye.
The release says the district would be made up of five police stations: Mahalapye, Machaneng, Shoshong, Martins Drift as well as Dibete and it would bring to 16 the total number of police districts in the country.
The release further states that before the establishment of the district, the police stations were under Serowe police district, except Dibete which was under Mochudi police district.
The establishment of the district was done to ease the workload of Serowe district. ENDS
