BTTA team readies for Japan champs

The Botswana Table Tennis Association's (BTTA) senior national team will leave for Tokyo, Japan on April 26 to attend the World Table Tennis Championships.

BTTA publicity secretary, Lelentle Mokhupuki said in an interview that the team was in camp preparing for the world tournament. She said the tournament will be held from April 27 to May 7 for its debut ranking world competition with 107 female and 125 male teams.

The Botswana team comprises team manager, Kudzanani Motswagole, team coaches Sai Maribe and Tshepo Modisane, while male players are Joseph Kgatlampane (Captain), Thobo Matlhatsi and Kola Modisathebe and female players include Boitshwarelo Butale (Captain), Tshepiso Rebatenne and Oabona Raditloko.

BTTA president, Thebe Selema will also be leaving with the team to attend continental (ATTF) and international (ITTF) meetings in his capacity as Africa Table Tennis Federation, Vice President, Zonal.

The camp, which is held at Maniacs training venue, University of Botswana Faculty of Engineering, will end on April 25. ENDS
