Parliament has been informed that Kanye has been issued with three new vehicles in 2014 from the newly acquired fleet.

Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse said a total of ten vehicles are currently used to police the constituency, in addition to ten more which are currently at the Central Transport Organization (CTO) for service and said they will continue to improve the capability of the Botswana Police to have superior advantage over criminals.

Kanye south MP, Mr Abram Kesupile had asked the minister whether he is aware that Kanye police continue to be severely strained to control the breaking into businesses and residential properties due to insufficient number of suitable vehicles and lack of defence gadgets/tools that could match those carried by thieves.

Mr Kesupile also asked how soon he will provide additional vehicles and what he will do to give the police defence superiority over those they pursue for arrest. ENDS
