Transport ministry to investigate Ramotswa allegations

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefhi says he is not aware that some taxi operators in Ramotswa refuse to service parts of the village such as Magope, Lesetlhana and Sepitswana especially during the off peak times.
Mr Molefhi informed Parliament that the allegation would be investigated and if proven to be true, the ministry through the department of roads, transport and safety would take appropriate action on all taxi operators who violated provisions of the Road Transport Permits Act.
He said action could include cautioning of such operators, suspension of permits and or cancellation of such permits.
The Minister further said Lesetlhana and Sepitswana were serviced by taxis and Ramotswa Route II combis, while Magope was taken care of by taxis and Ramotswa Route 4 combis.
He was responding to a question asked y South East South MP, Mr Odirile Motlhale who wanted to know if the ministry was aware that some taxi operators in Ramotswa refused to service parts of the village such as Magope, Lesetlhana and Sepitswana especially during the off peak times.
He also wanted to know what the ministry would do to remedy the situation. Ends
