Tsabong unified school at adjudication stage

24 Mar 2014

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole has told Parliament that Tsabong Unified Secondary School project is at adjudication stage and it is expected to be completed by the end of March 2014.

He said the school was originally not part of NDP 10 considering the situation at Tsabong and surrounding areas hence the ministry proposed a unified school in 2013 and placed for funding before Parliament during this budget session.

Mr Masimolole said the ministry had been briefing the community about the project and the minister addressed a kgotla meeting in Hukuntsi on June 14, 2013 where she briefed the community about the project.

He stated that with the foregoing, there was no lack of communication on the part of the ministry and as such there should not be any lack of trust.

MP for Kgalagadi South, Mr John Toto had asked the minister to give an update on the school and further state the reason why it was not operational as promised by the President and the Minister of Education and Skills Development.

He also asked him to state the reasons why the minister could not update the community on what is going on given the delays and if he is aware that lack of communication with the community causes lack of trust on the ministry and government. Ends
