Santos beat Motlakase

The relegation threatened Gabane-based Uniao Flamingo Santos clinched a 2-1 victory against Motlakase Power Dynamos in an encounter played at Palapye Swallows grounds on Saturday, April 12.
The encounter, which was poorly attended and characterised by many stoppages due to reckless tackling, saw the visitors break the deadlock through Nno Sebolaanoga strike from the right flank.
However, the hosts equalised, thanks to Lapologang Motlogi’s tame shot which somehow made its way into the net through a bunch of Santos defenders who were caught ball-watching. Motlogi pounced on a loose ball after Santos’ goal minder parried the ball back into play and in the process colliding with his rear guard.
Late in the second half, pint sized and ever hard working Senatla Molefhe was rewarded for his efforts after Motlakase’s defence failed to deal with a cross and Molefhe blasted home from close range to put his side in the lead.
Motlakase aka Chouka Chouka, who had been on the losing spree since parting ways with Oris Radipotsane, tried all they could to level matters but Santos stood their ground until the last whistle. The win took the Gabane side to 14th position which was held by Miscellaneous who were humiliated by Center Chiefs in Orapa.
Next on their menu will be Orapa United who are equally struggling and the encounter will be played at the Molepolole Sports complex. ENDS
