'Women should be faithful'
18 Nov 2013
Women have been advised to be trustworthy and faithful in everything they do.
Speaking at a women’s retreat hosted by Bible Life Ministries in Kasane ahead of the launch of the 16 days of activism against gender violence, Ms Tshegofatso Setima defined faithfulness as doing what one said he/she will do with passion.
Talking about the topic; When your Faithfulness is Tested, Ms Setima gave an example of promises that people made at job interviews of adding value to the prospective organisation but ended up not doing so.
She said instead of adding value, such people turned new employees against the organisation, saying they felt sorry for them for having joined the organisation. However, she said, the same applied to a new convert in church who is pressurised by other veteran’ members to slow down.
Ms Setima asked if such employees still showed constant support and loyalty to the organisation or had the same passion of doing their job and adding value to the organization since they are working against its values.
Surprisingly, such people, she said, would still demand promotion. She said God looked at individuals’ attitude, “If we are talking about relevance, so far we have demonstrated the opposite.” Ms Setima noted that being tested for faithfulness is not a short term thing but a long haul process.
“It is only after a long time that someone’s character truly starts to show because everyone can pretend for a short while,” she said. The launch for the 16 days of activism against gender based violence will be at Kavimba on November 26. ENDS
