Youth clinic gets recreational equipment
12 Nov 2013
The Ministry of Health’s youth empowerment coordinating committee has donated recreational equipment to the Ghanzi Primary Hospital youth clinic.
The chairperson of youth empowerment coordinating committee, Mr Lucas Nku, handed over the equipment, which included the scrabble, pool table, table tennis, darts and chess. Mr Nku said his committee donated the equipment to ease shortage of recreational facilities for young Batswana in Ghanzi. He said his committee was formed to help solve the problems that bedevilled young people.
He said the donation would attract the youth to play games at the hospital, thus keeping them busy. The committee had since donated to hospitals in Mahalapye, Letlhakane, Maun, Molepolole, Tsabong and they will soon be donating in Gumare and Gweta. The committee worked through sub-committees in district and primary hospitals.
The focal person for the Ghanzi youth clinic, Mr Ketlabaisakae Tawana received the equipment on behalf of the clinic. He said the donation came at the right time because the youth clinic was experiencing low numbers of attendance and the equipment would help attract the youth to the clinic in large numbers. Ends
