VP urges businesses to partner with government
18 Mar 2019
Businesses have been called upon to partner with government in developing the country.
Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane said this during the groundbreaking ceremony of a clinic funded by Leseding Interiors in Makalamabedi recently.
He implored other businesses to emulate Leseding Interior in supporting government to drive developments and reduce the backlog of projects. The project, he said, was never part of the National Development Plan, and that it would have taken many years for government to fund it.
He said residents had since been pleading for a clinic and that they did not give up until their request was finally answered, albeit by a private entity.
Mr Tsogwane said the design and type was unique from other clinics, adding that it would be the envy of many.
The project, he said, would also create employment opportunities for the local community during the construction period.
He said the leadership was grateful for the noble gesture, adding that it would make a huge impact on the people of Makalamabedi.
Mr Tsogwane commended Leseding Interiors for adhering to the pillars of Vision 2036 of being an inclusive society.
The chief executive officer of Leseding Interiors, Mr Mohmed Bobat said the company management saw it as their responsibility and duty to assist the village with the health facility.
Mr Bobat said it was a privilege to construct the clinic which would cost at least P1 million, adding that construction would take 12 months, and that all facilities required would be installed by government.
Motopi/Makalamabedi councillor, Mr Onkhuparetse Monnaatsie implored residents to support the project to ensure its success. ENDS
