17 Mar 2019

Former Kgosi Sechele I Museum employee, Ms Galaletsang Keepile, who hails from Takatokwane in Kweneng District, has found a niche in the secretarial service business.

In an interview recently, the 38-year-old entrepreneur said in 2016 telecommunication company, Mascom Wireless, assisted her to open an Internet café through the Kitsong centre programme.

The centre offers services such as prepaid sim card replacement, my-zaka registration, typing, printing, faxing, invitation cards, business cards and company profiles among others.

She said the business, that aims at helping young people to alleviate poverty in their villages, was doing well, adding that she had never closed her caravan doors.

Ms Keepile revealed that her business came at the right time to rescue residents of Takatokwane and surrounding areas as they used to travel to Molepolole and Letlhakeng to access secretarial services.

She said one service that became useful to residents was laminating of documents such as residential plot certificates and ploughing fields certificates, noting that older people commended her for such a service as they were able to protect their documents from elements.

The Takatokwane native said her five year experience at Kgosi Sechele I Museum in Molepolole gave her an upper hand during project training.

Ms Keepile, who revealed that she has an advanced diploma in secretarial services, said she was passionate about her work. She also volunteers to assist residents who were keen to learn computer skills.

She revealed that she assisted clients from Takatokwane, Maboane and Dutlwe who needed secretarial services and Mascom related services. She also said her determination and patience in growing her business were key values that kept her going.

Ms Keepile further stated that when she opened her business, she experienced a low-turnout of clients, however, she never gave up hope.

She further said she was reliable, which attracted clients and remains trustworthy to them. She urged young entrepreneurs to go the extra-mile when serving clients and to stand for challenges that came their way.

‘‘My dream is to find a business plot so that I can be able to invest in other business opportunities that can relief the Internet café,’’ said Ms Keepile. She said she has a burning desire to open a beauty boutique that could offer residents classic services.

She revealed that after leaving her job in 2014, her family was the only pillar of strength as she was unemployed, adding that their support encouraged her to believe in herself. ENDS
