Orange Botswana introduces 4G network in Serowe
09 Apr 2017
Orange Botswana has introduced a faster fourth generation network (4G) to the community of Serowe on April 8.
According to Orange Botswana sales operations manager, Mr Sipho Ntebang, the development was ‘an extra mile’ from the 3G network they introduced to Serowe community a few years back.
He said provision and availability of 4G network in Serowe would avail opportunities for their customers through a fast Internet connection.
He said fast Internet made it easier to connect and consequently ease communication like capturing and sharing pictures in a moment.
Mr Ntebang told the community that as a network provider they deemed it fit to celebrate the introduction of a faster network with their customers because as he put it, ‘we are here because of you,’ adding they were proud to be associated with their customers in Serowe.
"To successfully enjoy 4G network, clients were informed that Orange bridged the gap between the poor and the well-offs by providing smartphones at affordable prices, a privilege that existed for the few in the past," Orange Botswana sales operations manager said.
The company also distributed free sim cards for the newly introduced product ‘Bua Le Nna’ that promoted unlimited calls between Orange users, provided clients had subscribed to various offers.
Mr Ntebang also encouraged Orange clients to utilise available services across the village.
He offered that Orange Money was one product that offered opportunities for employment creation for Batswana.
Serowe umbrella Village Development Committee (VDC) chairperson, Mr Gaeelwe Kennekae was all praises for Orange in taking communities by hand in technological advancements.
He also commended Orange Botswana for partnering with communities in a bid to take communities forward in developmental agenda. ENDS
