Espouse focuses on weddings

Dubbed the first of its kind and earmarked to be a trendsetter in the magazine market, Espouse Magazine, is expected to address a fundamental vacancy in wedding celebrations.
Touted as a magazine that boasts high quality content in wedding and lifestyle to couples in intimate relationships by its ambitious proprietor, Dr Mmoloki Gabatlhaolwe, Espouse (to get married) magazine brings bride pages of stunning fashion, beauty, inspiration and planning ideas every month, with a circulation of 5000.
Whilst some newspapers would spare little space for a mere photo or two, Espouse seeks to celebrate weddings exclusively and extensively albeit at times for a fee, embracing and celebrating the best of the marriage tradition.
“There’s no weekend that passes without weddings and with that it can never be loud enough to say a wedding guide, a wedding directory made of service providers, all in a wedding publication is needed in Botswana,” said the publisher, Dr Gabatlhaolwe in response to whether or not he did a market research before embarking on the product.
A sole proprietor, Dr Gabatlhaolwe, a media professional as well as an expert in Asian Pacific international relations amongst a host of his accolades, says Espouse will not only be a harbour of wedding photos, but boasts high quality content in wedding and lifestyle to couples in intimate relationships.
The first issue is already out and according to Dr Gabatlhaolwe, the response for the first issue of limited distribution was ‘amazing’ and equally encouraging for a newbie since all the copies found their way to owners.
“I’m happy to say all copies have found owners and that wasn’t expected for the first copy and we are excited at this positive turn of events,” he said.
He who works with a group of talented young professionals top put up the magazine whilst simultaneously combating the dreaded unemployment scourge.
Though already in the market, Espouse is set to be launched in October.
The tactical move, the 31-year-old proprietor concedes, would let BOT50 celebrations subside so potential readers and advertisers could accommodate something new in their minds.
New as it is in the market, Espouse team is alive to the technological evolution and is keeping abreast with trends by creating an electronic format of the magazine, e-zine, compatible with tablet and smartphones for the techno suave readers.
Currently, the team is also promoting the magazine on various social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and via emails in an endeavour to create awareness pre-launch.
To get people reading and subscribing in large numbers, Dr Gabatlhaolwe and the team are working on a content not to ignore.
Such content would feature couples that have stood the test of time with an attempt to share marriage life with newly-weds and would-be married persons. ends
