Joint efforts necessary in education-Kwantle

The chief industrial relations officer in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development has called on various stakeholders to participate in the education sector to help lessen challenges hindering learning.
Mr Kwantle Kwantle said this during Chadibe Primary school prize giving ceremony . He said such combined efforts have potential to yield good results and also challenged stakeholders including teachers, parents, students and the community to recognise education as a critical component for the social and economic development of the country and as such they should become actively involved.
He added that a nation that does not invest significantly in education would not be able to achieve its long-term socio-economic goals.
Mr Kwantle, who is also a former student of Chadibe Primary School urged parents to view themselves as an integral part of the learning process as students spend most of their time with them at home.
“It is incumbent upon parents to create a conducive environment that promotes learning and good behaviour,” he stated.
Furthermore, Mr Kwantle encouraged students to take their studies seriously and desist from undertaking actions that may jeopardise their future and academic exploits like drug usage.
The guests speaker called on students to put their education first, listen to their teachers and parents and work hard to yield outstanding results.
He also said since white collar jobs were hard to find nowadays, students should unearth their God -given talents in order to employ themselves in the future.
Mr Kwantle explained that the government on its part was doing everything possible to come up with ways to improve education.
For her part, the school head Ms Gadibolelwe Koloi said the school opened its doors to learners in 1989 and today it was topping all the schools in Sefhare/Ramokgonami constituency with 839 pupils.
Ms Koloi revealed that in the past years, the school performance were disappointing, adding that now that they were working hand in hand with all relevant stakeholders, the results were improving each year.
“We will endeavour to do as best as we can and bring desired results and place the school among the top performers in the country,” Ms Koloi vowed. She said unlike most schools, their school has enough staff and staff accommodation. Ends
