Bokaa leadership compromises
05 Aug 2015
Kgosi Sue Mosinyi of Bokaa and elders from his village have agreed to reach a compromise on the traditional boundary line between their territory and Morwa.
Kgosi Mosinyi said this after the leadership of Morwa complained during a kgotla meeting that Bokaa farming fields have encroached into their village.
“We can use the tarred road as the boundary line, and it does not matter for our fields to be part of Morwa as long as we know they are ours,” he said.
During the meeting, Kgosi Masisi Ntshole of Morwa said his father showed him the Moshawa tributary as the borderline, while Kgosi Mosinyi said he knows the Tshwene tributary to be the boundary.
Realising the futility of progressing the issue with the divergent accounts, Kgosi Mosinyi agreed on a compromise.
He said although he has never heard of the encroachment since he became a kgosi in 2004, he underscored the need to find a common ground.
He advised against disputes between the two villages and said dikgosi have to ensure peace and stability among the people.
Kgosi Segale Linchwe, who convened the meeting to resolve the impasse, explained that the land board wanted to establish the boundary line so as to improve services in the two villages.
He urged the villages to avoid disagreements as they could delay developments. The two villages agreed to meet on August 17, 2015 near Borwa Junior Secondary School to finalise the traditional boundary line. Ends
