BDP right choice - Khama

23 Oct 2014

President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama says Batswana should brace themselves for increased and well thought initiatives, which would develop their lives.

Speaking during a Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) political rally In Malatswai in Serowe West constituency on October 22, he said when they win the general elections, they would increase and improve all government initiatives.

He said allowance for the ipelegeng programme was going to increase and also the food ratio was going to increase. He noted that his party was ready to improve lives, adding that when they win the elections after three years, there would be no longer poverty in the country.

The President said BDP was the only party, which had the interest of Batswana at heart and voting for it in the coming general elections would be good. He said there was no opposition party, which could rule this country, adding that a lot of them could not be trusted.

President Khama said opposition parties only existed to stir trouble and disturb the peace that had been in the country. On other issues, President Khama said there were no independent candidates in BDP.

He said some people who lost during the BDP primary elections have now resorted to being independent candidates for BDP, adding there was no such thing in
BDP and they do not recognize such people, as they no longer belong to any political party.

He explained that they have closed their doors never to allow such people back into the BDP, as they are the ones who end up destroying the party.

He cautioned those who would vote that they should shun independent candidates, as they only wanted power and status but not representing the people and what the party stood for.

He urged all registered BDP Serowe West constituency members to vote for parliamentary candidate Mr Tshekedi Khama and his councilors on Friday. Ends
