Chairperson of Notwane Football Club, Arnold Somolokae said his team has been operating under numerous challenges, but managed to overcome them.
Speaking at a partnership launch between Notwane and Metropolitan, Somolekae said they managed to survive the relegation zone last season, adding that they also had a problem with the then investor, which even forced them to settle their matter at the courts of law.
Somolokae said their predicament then forced the club management to fix everything and start on a new slate hence they found it fit to engage Metropolitan insurance company.
Their proposal, he said, was geared towards the funeral policy. He said Notwane was well-known to be a strong a formidable side with branches across the country and its 12th player travelled with the team.
“We are trying to cover our supporters, if you remember very well we once lost our coach, Banks Panene in a car accident,” he said. Therefore, Somolokae said it was important for all Notwane supporters to apply for the membership, which he said would include funeral cover.
According to Somolokae, the platinum membership card would cost supporters P73.20, for gold card they would part with P62.40, while the silver card would cost P51.60.
“The memberships include funeral policy covered by Metropolitan,” he said. Metropolitan corporate business manager, Masego Tselaesele-Mokgolodi said her company builds relationships and nurtures them.
Tselaesele-Mokgolodi said their relationship with Notwane was based on trust and transparency. She said the platinum card entails P20 000 funeral cover, while funeral cover for gold membership was P15 000 and silver attracts a funeral cover of P10 000.
Tselaesele-Mokgolodi said there would be no medical evidence required for one to qualify for the cover, but there were terms and conditions which would apply. In the event the member passes on, she said benefits would be paid directly to the beneficiary.
She however said there was no duration of their partnership, save to say it was subjected to annual reviews. “Our intention is to have a lifetime partnership and to evaluate the performance of the scheme that is if it is good and where can we improve it,” she said.
At the same event a local brand Dlala sport wear was unveiled and theywill give Notwane, a complete set of attire including, home, away, alternative, travelling and training kits. ENDS
