30 Jan 2013

The Pakistan Association of Botswana has raised P100 000, through pledges, in support of the President’s Housing Appeal for the needy.

The association also pledged to provide bedding and other household items to every beneficiary who received a house. They pledged to support the President’s initiative during a meeting held recently with coordinator of the President’s Housing Appeal, Colonel Duke Masilo.

It was also revealed at the meeting that in November last year, the association donated P98 300 to the housing appeal.

Addressing the 60 Pakistan professionals living in Botswana, Col Masilo said to date, the appeal had delivered over 200 houses since its launch in August 2010.

He said, “though this is a commendable effort, more still needs to be done as there are over 2 000 deserving destitute persons countrywide." ENDS
