Shakawes only pre-school re-opens

Belega Bana Pre-school in Shakawe, will on February 4 re-open its doors after it was mysteriously gutted by fire mid-last year.
Pre-school manager, Ms Abigail Mogabodi said in an interview that the school which would cater for 40 children from Shakawe and surrounding villages would operate as a private entity and no longer under Botshelo Trust.
“We are this week finalising the construction of the centre and provision of necessary equipment. Then we will be ready for the in-coming kids” she said.
Belega Bana, which was established in 2006 offers pre-school and day care centre services. Thus Ms Mogabodi highlighted the importance of early education, saying it provided foundation and gave a child confidence as well as easing adaptation to the school environment.
Despite lack of funds, she said that would not deter the school from opening. She encouraged parents to register their children so that they could benefit from the early education system. The pre-school will have a reception class, day care class, kitchen and the registration fee is P50, she added. ENDS
