Ndjaveras lawyer wants forensic report

A defence lawyer in Thebe Ndjavera’s double murder case has appealed to the prosecution to update the court on when the affidavit from the forensic laboratory will be available
Appearing for the accused during a brief mention on August 20, Mr Kabelo Gaonyadiwe said although he appreciated that the prosecution is not responsible for processing the affidavit, it should however confirm the time when it is expected and update the court in the next mention.
Earlier on, the Prosecutor from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr Chimbisane Sechele, said the investigations on the case were on-going and the police are awaiting an affidavit from the forensic lab, which plays part of the investigation process.
The accused, Ndjavera is facing two counts of murdering his two toddler daughters aged two and four years old.
It is alleged that he used a sharp instrument to murder the toddlers in February in Somerset East location in Francistown. Magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba set another mention date to September 4. ENDS
