Golden hearted Etani encourages SOS children

11 Apr 2016

Serowe small-scale business woman has encouraged Serowe SOS children not to allow circumstances that landed them at the centre to derail their future plans but be focused and ensure that they lead better lives.

Etani Ntshese said this during the lunch she hosted for the children at Serowe Hotel on Saturday.

Ms Ntshese a widow and mother of one, revealed that having lunch with the children was a dream come true for her as she has been having a vision of doing such.

She said although she has been ignoring her inner voice for some time, she realised that it was time when she went to drop some harvest for the children.

“Seeing these children inspired me to extend my hand of help and I saw it fit to share lunch with them,” she said.

She said some people might view such a gesture as a show off but said people should realise that children found in such centres are the responsibility of all.

She said it was circumstances that led them to such homes and not their choice.

Ms Ntshese, a member of Head-Mountain Apostolic Church in Zion urged the children to take the opportunity of being under such care to pursue their dreams.

She said challenges have not destroyed them but instead opened other doors of opportunity for them.

Another speaker, Ms Francinah  Lethapa commended the host for her noble gesture which she said is in line with government’s vision of being a compassionate and caring nation.

She said Ms Ntshese has certainly sacrificed a lot in terms of time and resources to ensure that she put smiles on the children’s faces.

“It is not easy for individuals to do what Ms Ntshese did. Most people focus on their families’ needs and not others. This is a sign of love that should be common among members of society.”

Ms Lethapa said there are still more children out there who have not been identified and encouraged all to go out and attend to their needs.

She said God loves those with good deeds.

One of the carers from SOS village, Ms Gakenosi Kgosietsile expressed delight to their host and said such outings will go a long way in the lives of the children.

She said the children need support from the community as it motivates them and makes them feel loved.

The children had a funfilled day filled with song and laughter. Ends
