Mokaila joins counterparts in Tokyo

The Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila will leave for Tokyo, Japan on May 14 to attend the Africa-Japan Ministerial meeting for natural resources development.  

A press release from the ministry states that the meeting, which will be in two parts, the ministerial meeting and the Japan Sustainable Mining, Investment and Technology Business Forum will give African ministers responsible for Natural Resources, an opportunity to deliberate on issues of sustainable mining development, investment promotion, technical cooperation with the Japanese.

The release says the minister will participate in both meetings and is expected to give a keynote presentation on: “Botswana’s Mining Industry Policy under the Copper, Lead and Zinc” at the Business Forum.  

It further states that while in Japan,  Minister Mokaila will hold bilateral talks with the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

He will be accompanied by senior officials from the ministry and is expected back home on the May 20. ENDS
