District commissioner applauds committees

09 May 2013

Ngamiland District commissioner, Ms Bernadette Malala has applauded the committees, which were involved in the preparation of the latest poverty eradication seminar held at Chanoga.

She said a delegation from Gaborone led by Dr John Mothibi gave an encouraging feedback.

Ms Malala said they were informed that the event was a success as the organisation of the whole activity had impressed President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, his vice, Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe, the Minister for Presidential Affairs and Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi and the poverty eradication team.

She said it was reported that the leadership hailed the seminar as the best amongst all the previous four. Ms Malala commended members of the committee during a small ceremony to give them certificates of appreciation.

“Considering the amount of labour that you put through, I realised that a thank you is not enough hence I designed certificates for you,” she added.

The committee was thanked for sleepless nights and commitment to ensure the seminar was up to standard.

Ms Malala also expressed happiness noting that the four local authorities worked as a team and wished they could continue with the good team spirit in other government programmes and activities in the district to ensure they achieve the expected results.

She noted that team the spirit among the authorities could change the image of their district for the better. The district commissioner said at times it seemed they were failing just because they were working in isolation,  adding that “if we can continue working as a team, other districts would come here and benchmark”.

Ms Malala encouraged public servants to continue with the good work noting that there were many national events in the pipe line, which would be held in the district. ENDS
