Companies adopt Agosi primary

CPP Engineering and Planners and Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) have donated 12 computers and P10 000 to Agosi Primary School during the school’s prize giving ceremony recently.

Presenting the gift, CPP Engineering and Planners managing director, Mr Kobamelo Kgoboko said the company has adopted Agosi Primary School for the period of five years.

Mr Kgoboko said they saw it fit to donate computers with Internet connection, printers and accessories as a necessity for today’s learning environment.

The savings bank chief executive officer (CEO), Mr Boikhutso Tekane said his company understands the importance of quality education hence his company found it suitable to donate six computers and P10 000 to the school.

Mr Tekane commended CPP Engineering and Planners for adopting the school because   the government could not manage alone.

He also encouraged parents to be involved in their children’s education by assessing their   school work and ensuring that children were not going to school hungry and untidy.

The school’s head, Ms Tefetso Lebotse said her school has been doing well academically since it was opened in 2004.

The school has been scooping best primary school in Bobirwa and the second best primary school in the Selebi Phikwe/Bobonong region (SELEBO) every year.

Ms Lebotse said her school has a dream of being a centre of excellence hence they work together with the village development committee, parents, teachers and other stakeholders to plan on achieving their dream.

She expressed gratitude towards CPP Engineering and Planners and BSB for the donations.

Ms Lebotse promised that her school would use the money to develop their school, as they had the desire to build a garden park and poultry house in the school.

She said she they would ensure that the computers were utilised for their intended purposes.

Dandane/Mabeleng councillor, Mr Keoagile Ramatoto thanked the two companies for recognising the importance of education and investing in it.

Mr Ramatoto promised the school that the issue of shortage of water at the school would soon be history, saying the council was working round the clock to connect water from Thune Dam to the water system in Bobonong. Bokhutlo
