Location no excuse for poor performance

If one’s dreams are shallow and trapped inside a box chances for her future to be bleak are high but those who opt to get rid of the box and dream big are likely to have brighter feature, Mr Tefo Mokone social worker in Hukuntsi has said.
Speaking during Ledibela Primary School prize giving ceremony in Hukuntsi recently Mr Mokone encouraged students not to be hindered by their geographical location citing that the syllabus and tests offered were all the same countrywide.
He said for their dreams to be successful they have to mix them with definiteness and be diligent and enthusiastic to their academic work as this will help them achieve their ambitions and shape the destiny of the nation.
For standard seven, he said Junior School is their next level and they have to be acquainted with challenges that will present them self on their path and they need to be stable, well equipped to avoid finding themselves on the wrong path.
Mr Mokone added that daily life duties at home play pivotal role in children’s performance, he said home is vital foundation in child’s growth and parents should assure that all basic necessity including love were provided.
Love, he hinted, could boost a child’s self esteem hence improve performance at school.
For his part Kgosi Bakweni Motlhaetse of Ga-Moselebe ward noted that the poor academic results country wide should not cause controversy finger pointing between parents, teachers and children. He however said the current situation needs utmost unity between all stakeholders in finding solution to the matter.
He urged parents to close the gap between them and teachers as this may be helpful in improving learners academic performance.
Kgosi Motlhaetse added that while government offers education for students to be knowledgeable and diverse avenues on how to start businesses, pupils should stop thinking that government should also provide jobs. Ends
