Health workers volunteers donate

19 Oct 2015

Letlhakane Clinic staff and home based care volunteers have donated eight mattresses to home based care clients in their clinic.

Speaking during the handover ceremony recently, Letlhakane Clinic head, Ms Duduetsang Motswasele applauded the clinic staff and home based care givers for going an extra mile by helping those who were unwell.

She stated that for a person to take care of another they need to have a good heart and be lead by love. She commended them for living the 2016 pillar of being compassionate and caring.

“You do not need to have a lot of money to care for the sick in society, but a smile and laughter can heal a broken heart or sickness,” said Ms Motswasele.

For her part, the health education assistant, Ms Lulicia Pinaemang pointed out that the donation was an annual event. She noted that in previous years patients were given blankets and plates, but that this year they decided to donate mattresses.

She said they had 12 patients and that as they get better they were set aside from the programme and that so far they were taking care of eight individuals.

Ms Pinaemang also said they have noted that there was an improvement on home cared patients. Giving a testimony, one of the home based care clients, Ms Lenah Moleti pointed out that she was unable to walk for almost a year.

With the help of home based care givers, Ms Moleti said she could now walk with a single crasher. She added that for a person to heal, they have to accept their situation and to trust in God. Ms Moleti thanked home based care givers for the love they gave her and her family.

She pointed out that before she was identified by home based care givers, she used to be cared for by her children and that she would remain alone when the children went to school.

The donation was made with contributions by Barakat A1 Enterprises; community home based care volunteers and Fire Aglow Church. Ends
